Did you know that Kenya was designated a Regional Centre for Regulatory Excellence (RCORE) in Pharmacovigilance in 2014 by NEPAD under the African Medicines Harmonization Project. This was due to the achievements in pharmacovigilance activities PPB attained since the centre started in 2004 and official launch of the PV system in 2009 .
The centre acts as a bench mark for other countries within the Region as a hub for good pharmacovigilance practices. So far it has played host to Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Ethiopia, Afghanistan.
Notable Kenya is also currently the top 6th African Country reporting individual case safety reports (ICSRs) to the international database and also the Lead country in Pharmacovigilance and Post Marketing Surveillance within the East Africa Harmonization under the AMRH initiatives.
